Last week we were thrilled to launch Echo the Eco Dragon and our first ‘RDC Eco Kids’ event at The Red Dragon Centre.
Working with environmental education organisations, EggSeeds; play services association, Re-Create; and Pedal Emporium, a company which creates pedal power bicycle generators to promote cycling and sustainability; we launched the first of our eco activities with the Eco Dragon, which was made entirely out of recycled materials.
Children from across Cardiff and South Wales were able to play and interact with the dragon while learning about different types of recycled materials as well as the importance of reducing plastic waste.
Families also part in a wide variety of fun, educational activities such as building boats from recycled materials to sail in EggSeeds’ upcycled moat and putting their little legs to the test as they cycled Pedal Emporiums bikes to help power their moat.
Speaking about the new partnership, Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said: “We are thrilled to have launched our RDC Eco Kids project and to be working with EggSeeds to create fun activities for children in Cardiff and South Wales.
“Plastic awareness is rightfully a hot topic at present, and I think it is important for us to help educate children about reducing plastic waste by encouraging them to ‘go green’.
“This is the first event of its kind for us at the RDC and I am delighted to work with some great organisations to put the event together and support a more sustainable future. We are also thrilled to be welcoming Echo the Eco Dragon back this Summer! Keep posted for full details coming soon…”
