It’s the month the clocks go back, the days get a shorter, and a time for enjoying a good scare! Good thing there’s some great films to warm us up and get us in the Halloween spirit at The RDC this month.

Here’s a look at some of out top picks this October. Remember to head over to www.odeon.co.uk to view film times or to book.

VENOM

Release date: 3rd October

Eddie Brock is a reporter, investigating people who want to go unnoticed. But after he makes a terrible discovery at the Life Foundation, he begins to transform into ‘Venom’.

One of Marvel’s most celebrated anti-heroes comes to the big screen in ‘Venom’, starring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed.

JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN (PG)

Release date: 5th October

When a devastating cyber-attack on the British secret service exposes the identity of all their undercover agents, ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’ in an attempt to save the day.

Rowan Atkinson and Ben Miller are back once more for ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’, the latest instalment in the beloved comedy franchise.

A STAR IS BORN (15)

Release date: 3rd October

‘A Star Is Born’ is the story of Jackson Maine, a seasoned musician who discovers – and quickly falls in love with – a young, struggling singer called Ally.

She’s ready to give up on her dreams of the spotlight, but Jackson manages to coax her back. Before long, her career takes off and she achieves the success she’s been searching for… but all the while, Jackson’s battling his own personal demons.

Bradley Cooper directs and stars alongside Lady Gaga in ‘A Star Is Born’, a heartfelt drama about the difficulty of following your dreams.

SMALLFOOT

Release date: 12th October

When Migo, a yeti living in the mountains with his tribe, encounters a human – previously believed to be a myth – he sets out in search of the legendary ‘Smallfoot’.

He joins up with a group of yetis who also believe that humans exist, but gets frustrated with their lack of evidence. Setting out into the wider world on his own, he undertakes an incredible adventure to prove that he’s right, and the Smallfoot is real.

Join the search for the ‘Smallfoot’ in this hilarious animated comedy starring Channing Tatum, James Corden and Zendaya.

FIRST MAN (12A)

Release date: 12th October

The true story of the life of Neil Armstrong, a test pilot and astronaut who became the ‘First Man’ to set foot on the Moon during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission.

Based on the acclaimed book by James R. Hansen, ‘First Man’ is a riveting drama that reunites director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling after their multi-Oscar winning collaboration on ‘La La Land’.

GOOSEBUMPS 2: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN

Release date: 19th October

Halloween only comes once a year, and in ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’, it comes to life as Slappy the Dummy returns, bringing another horde of monsters with him.

When two boys unknowingly open a book which once again unleashes the Goosebumps monsters upon the world, it’s up to them to thwart Slappy’s plans and put a stop to this chaos before it’s too late.

The sequel to the 2015 smash hit, ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ welcomes us back to R.L. Stine’s world of monsters and madness.

HUNTER KILLER

Release date: 19th October

‘Hunter Killer’ follows the exploits of submarine captain Joe Glass, who is sent on a dangerous mission to rescue the Russian president after his kidnapping by a rogue general.

Glass is untested in combat, and he’s been teamed with a group of elite Navy SEALs for this task. And following a Russian military coup, the clock is ticking down to the beginning of World War III.

Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman star in ‘Hunter Killer’, a gripping action thriller directed by Donovan Marsh.

HALLOWEEN

Release date: 19th October

Forty years after Laurie Strode was terrorised by Michael Myers at ‘Halloween’, she comes to her final confrontation with the masked killer who has haunted her life.

Older, wiser, and still traumatised by her horrifying experience, Laurie has spent her whole life preparing for Michael’s return. And when he does, he may just find that he’s met his match this time around…

A sequel to John Carpenter’s slasher masterpiece, ‘Halloween’ sees Jamie Lee Curtis return to one of her most iconic roles for her final showdown with The Shape.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

Release date: 26th October

Bohemian Rhapsody’ is the extraordinary story of Freddie Mercury, who became one of the most beloved entertainers in the world as Queen’s lead singer and legendary frontman.

Rami Malek takes up the mic as Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, a thrilling celebration of Queen and an exploration of their musical legacy.
