MARCH FILM GUIDE

News

With Spring showing no signs of arriving any time soon, it’s a good thing the films are hotting up at ODEON this March. Here’s our best pick of the bunch.

RED SPARROW (15)

Release date: 2nd March (previews 1st March)

Somewhere in Russia, there exists a secret program dedicated to turning people into weapons. They’re trained to manipulate, seduce, and use every asset at their disposal. They’re called ‘Red Sparrows’.

A captivating spy thriller that reunites Jennifer Lawrence with her director on ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, ‘Red Sparrow’ also stars Joel Edgerton and Charlotte Rampling.

GAME NIGHT (15)

Release date: 2nd March

Join Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams and Kyle Chandler for ‘Game Night’, as they set out on a riotous adventure that needs to be seen to be believed.

GRINGO

Release date: 9th March

‘Gringo’ sees mild-mannered businessman Harold Soyinka, with a new wife, a stake in a profitable pharmaceutical company and his dreams finally within his grasp, unexpectedly stranded in Mexico.

David Oyelowo stars alongside Amanda Seyfried and Joel Edgerton in ‘Gringo’, a white-knuckle action thriller about one man’s attempt to get home.

MOM AND DAD

Release date: 9th March

A seemingly normal day turns into a living nightmare when a mysterious mass hysteria descends upon a small town, causing ‘Mom And Dad’ to try and kill their children.

Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair are ‘Mom And Dad’ in this white-knuckle thriller. They brought their kids into this world, and now they’re going to take them out of it.

PETER RABBIT (PG)

Release date: 16th March

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude.

James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

TOMB RAIDER

Release date: 16th March (previews 14th and 15th)

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class.

Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one….

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING

Release date: 23rd March

In March 2018, John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) leads the cast of ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’, the follow-up to 2013’s cinematic epic of monsters and mechs, inspiring a new generation to become the biggest heroes to ever walk the earth.

A WRINKLE IN TIME

Release date: 23rd March

‘A Wrinkle In Time’ follows the incredible adventures of Meg Murry, who sets out on a time and space-bending journey through the cosmos to try and rescue her missing father.

With the help of three powerful beings called Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit, Meg tries to overcome the ancient evil force that’s holding her father prisoner. And the only way to defeat this darkness is to become the light.

Ava DuVernay brings the classic novel to spectacular life with ‘A Wrinkle In Time’, starring Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon.

READY PLAYER ONE

Release date: 30 March

The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance).
