THE AFTERMATH (15)

‘The Aftermath’ is set in post war Germany in 1946. Rachael Morgan arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in the bitter winter, to be reunited with her husband Lewis, a British colonel charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that Lewis has made an unexpected decision. They will be sharing the grand house with its previous owners, a German widower and his troubled daughter.

In this charged atmosphere, enmity and grief give way to passion and betrayal.

CAPTAIN MARVEL

Release date: 8 March

Taking us back to the 1990s, ‘Captain Marvel’ follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes, and fights to protect Earth from an interstellar war.

She’s one of the Kree, a race of noble warriors who are at war with the Skrulls. When their war reaches Earth, she teams up with a young Nick Fury – and begins to uncover secrets from her past as strange, forgotten memories start coming back to her.

Everything begins with her: ‘Captain Marvel’ sees Brie Larson join the ranks of Marvel heroes, alongside a cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn.

FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS

Release date: 15 March

A fast-living, cynical London music executive heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen.

He becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band and their families who value friendship and community over fame and fortune.

As he’s drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he’s forced to re-evaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means.

Ali Davis is a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world… until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts!

With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends and a potential new love interest (Aldis Hodge) to the test.

DUMBO

Disney’s new live-action feature film ‘Dumbo’ introduces Holt Farrier, a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war.

Circus owner Max Medici enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star.
