It’s Christmaaaaaasssss!!!! And we’re feeling so festive with all the lush and Elftastic decorations in The Red Dragon Centre – we even met their cheeky elves Bubble and Squeak (see above!) in the studio yesterday!
Here at Capital, we’re going BIG this year with the return of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard! After a break last year it’s so good to be back at The 02 in London for 2 nights of epic live music. Justin Bieber is flying in for night 1 alongside Coldplay and so many other huge names and night 2 is all about Ed Sheeran and a personal fave of Kally and mine, Lil Nas X! It’s gonna be incredible and you can follow all the action on Global Player and on by listening to Capital.
On our show this month, we’ve been letting you decide which Christmas tunes we play in a game we’re calling Kally Versus Christmas! A few years ago, I challenged Kally to write and record a Christmas song in 24 hours and she came up with an instant hit, ‘Christmas Dinner (I love You)’ A song all about, you guessed it, our fave meal of the year, Christmas Dinner. It’s very very catchy and everything a cheesy Christmas song should be but listeners have had the choice to choose between Kally’s song and other famous ones like Mariah, Wham and Chris Rea… occasionally she got her song chosen instead! haha.
Christmas is a time for seeing family of course and someone who is spending it right here in South Wales is Love Island Winner, Liam Reardon and Mille Court. Our mate Liam joined us on the show to tell us his big plans and helped us switch on the Merthyr Christmas lights, we hope they have a lush first Christmas together!
We were also joined by the First Minister, Mark Drakeford, who reminded us how important it is to wear our masks and take lateral flow tests before seeing loved ones over the festive period. He also told us about Christmas in the Drakeford household.
This Christmas is looking a lot better than the last, so enjoy it with your family and friends.
