July Film Guide

| by | News

Nothing says summer quite like a trip to the movies! And this July looks set to be a scorcher at RDC ODEON IMAX – just take a look at a few of our top picks!

To view film times or to book, remember to head over to www.odeon.co.uk

THE FIRST PURGE (15)

Release date: 6th July

In an attempt to control the crime rate in America, an unorthodox experiment is proposed: to make all crime, including murder, legal for 12 hours. It’s called ‘The First Purge’.

Oppressed neighbourhoods are under siege from a government that desperately wants the plan to work, to the point that they’re sending in soldiers disguised as citizens to inspire acts of violence. It started in a few trial cities, but soon the Purge will explode across the nation.

Witness the beginning of the annual tradition in ‘The First Purge’, a prequel to the massively successful horror franchise.

WHITNEY (15)

Release date: 6th July

Chronicling the story of the life and career of ‘Whitney’ Houston, this gripping documentary, officially supported by her estate, includes live recordings of performances and never-before-seen footage.

INCREDIBLES 2 (pg)

Release date: 13th July (previews 30th June)

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2”!

This time Helen (aka Elastigirl) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (Mr. Incredible) at home with Violet and Dash to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for every one, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers.

When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone must find a way to work together again – which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN

Release date: 20th July

‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ picks up the story with Sophie pregnant, and not sure how she’s going to cope. But her mother’s story might give her some pointers…

THOMAS & FRIENDS: BIG WORLD! BIG ADVENTURES! THE MOVIE

Release date: 20th July

When a mischievous little racing car called Ace passes through Sodor on his way around the world, Thomas is inspired to embark on his own ambitious trip.

Featuring a world of wonder, curiosity and amazing animal friends, join Thomas on an epic adventure, fulfilling his dream of seeing the world!

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT

Release date: 27th July (previews 25th and 26th)

‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ sees Ethan Hunt and his elite team of IMF agents in a desperate race against time after a mission goes terribly wrong.

Yet more life-threatening stunts are in store for Tom Cruise in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’, as he reunites with his ‘Rogue Nation’ co-star Rebecca Ferguson and director Christopher McQuarrie.

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: A MONSTER VACATION

Release date: 27th July

‘Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation’ sees Drac exhausted from the work of running his hotel and in need of a holiday himself. So Mavis books them on a cruise!

And it’s not just any cruise, but one specifically designed for monsters. Drac’s not thrilled with the idea at first, but quickly settles in – and even starts to fall for the ship’s captain Ericka, who’s hiding a dangerous secret…

Kick back with Drac’s pack in ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation’, reuniting the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez and Andy Samberg.
