Team members at The Cardiff Bay Tavern in The Red Dragon Centre, are hosting a “Wax to the Max” Event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support on Tuesday 29th September.
The pub will be hosting several fundraising events. Each year more than 1,700 of Greene King pubs across the country come together to support Macmillan. Normally held in May, this year it has been moved to September due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of their fundraising efforts, Kris, Sam & Callum will be taking part in a Sponsored Leg Wax by Deputy Manager Lauren. The money raised by The Cardiff Bay Tavern will help fund vital Macmillan professionals, including the iconic Macmillan nurses up and down the country.
Macmillan helps people living with cancer with every aspect of their lives, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through to treatment and beyond. The charity anticipates a loss of 35-50% of its fundraising revenue this year which it uses to deliver vital services to people living with cancer and to people working in the NHS.
Since 2012, Greene King team members and guests have raised a staggering £7million for Macmillan by taking part in a wide range of fundraising challenges. These include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, cycling to Paris and hosting events in the pubs like Macmillan’s Coffee Mornings.
Kate Scourfield, General Manager of The Cardiff Bay Tavern, said: We are really looking forward to hosting our “Wax to the Max Event” and welcoming our customers to help us raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Everyone knows somebody living with cancer and events like these are a great way to involve the local community and support such an important cause.
