And we’re back! It’s so good to see The Red Dragon Centre back open for business. Kally and I were particularly pleased to see Five Guys re-opening… we’ve missed our milkshakes!
Lockdown has been a strange time and hopefully one we will never repeat but there have been many highlights on our show – weekdays from 4PM on Capital. We’ve felt very lucky to be able to come into work every day and provide great tunes and a fun distraction to daily life. We’ve heard from so many inspirational people across South Wales, from Geraint Thomas cycling in his garage to a little boy named Jake who ran 250k in 30 days for the NHS.
We interviewed First Minister, Mark Drakeford, and we’ve even had Chantelle the Parrot’s mum, on the show, (if you don’t know who she is, Google it!) It’s been great to give a platform to all of these amazing people.
2020 is the year of going virtual! We’ve hosted lockdown parties with our weekly online mixes, awards ceremonies via Zoom and even Pride Cyrmu from right outside The Red Dragon Centre. It was great to see a Drag Queen and a Belly Dancer performing outside our studios!
We’re starting to get back to the ‘new normal’ now and we celebrated the bank holiday with a live show from a pub in Cardiff Bay, re-opened a Welsh Cake shop and cut the ribbon on a new tread-mill at Simply Gym in The Red Dragon Centre.
Check us out on Capital South Wales, weekdays from 4-7pm and next time you’re here – give us a wave at the studio window.
