Brekkie at Grill & Shake

Blog Post By Polly x

I sometimes love going to bed because it means the next thing on the agenda is breakfast! Sad I know, but I love my food! I have something as soon as I wake up usually! It boosts my energy levels, powers my brain, which is needed at 6am and also just makes me happy. I’m very easily pleased. A bowl of frosties with ice cold milk, is just heaven on earth to me. I’m such a foodie! I can’t say I always eat the most healthy breakfast every day, but it’s better than skipping it! So, to my delight, you can imagine how excited I was when Grill n Shake in the Red Dragon centre started up a new breakie menu! As soon as I found out I dragged the team from Capital to have a try!

Firstly, Grill n Shake is a pretty unique place to eat in the RDC. It’s an American diner menu with some of the best burgers in town, mouth watering steaks and not to mention their world famous hand mixed luxury milkshakes as well!

As you can imagine I was wishing time away until our post show breakfast meeting to see what breakfast wonders were on the new menu! We decided to go for a bit of everything, the American styled pancakes with drizzling hot syrup, the streaky turkey bacon and I perosnally went for the spinach omelette. There is something magical about a good omlette – the way a couple of eggs and a pinch of salt can, in less than a minute, achieve such greatness. Light, yet rich in flavour, swift, but satisfying, and the grill & shake made me a classic hearty fluffy half mooner. No burnt bits, the spinach to egg ratio was perfect, it’s soft texture with a cheeky side of baked beans went down like a dream!

Bet you’ve never come across a omelette review like that before! I did tell you I was passionate about my food! I could tell the boys had food envy of my dish, which just meant we had to arrange another trip back so they could experience the same omlette inducing coma of delight like I did. Hopefully we will see you there! 😉

Big kisses and cwtches x
